The company has recently created a new opening for an experienced Wireless Communications Systems Architect within the Systems Group. The role is primarily to work on architecting current and future reference designs for multimode mobile devices and cellular handsets based on its best-in-class VoIP and state-of-the-art VoWLAN and Multi-Mode chipset solutions. This is a high visibility position in a challenging and growing organization and reports to the Vice President and General Manager of the Wireless Division.

Profile

As a senior member of the engineering team you will be responsible for ensuring the phone and system architecture of all VoWLAN and Multi-Mode development projects against challenging time, cost and performance specifications. Your leadership will extend over multidisciplinary groups including Systems Engineering, RF, HW, SW, Integration and Systems Testing. Combining its VoIP and wireless industry leading technologies and product portfolios, HelloSoft is uniquely positioned to drive the convergence of VoIP, WLAN (802.11abgei/hjkr/n), and Cellular (GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS) and deliver complete semiconductor and software solutions for advanced 2.5G, 3G, 3.5G and 4G mobile device solutions.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record delivering multiple cellular architectures and in shipping products on time, within budget and according to specifications, for major wireless standards (GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, CDPD, GPS, AMPS, TDMA, TD-SCDMA, CDMA, CDMA2000, Bluetooth, WLAN, OFDM, WiMax, etc.). A key attribute of this leader is the ability to manage and inspire an engineering team (150+ employees) to meet critical design and delivery goals. You must be technically knowledgeable and focused on product delivery, while pulling together a diverse work team across several technical disciplines, locations and cultural differences to achieve stated goals. You must have experience in architecting and implementation solutions at the level of equipment (e.g. terminal/basestation) and device (e.g. ASIC/SoC or FPGA/DSP) for major wireless standards, with a strong background in mobile device engineering.

Requirements

Requirements include minimally a BSEE degree and 10-15 years experience in the field of wireless and cellular systems. An MSEE or PhD is preferred. Must have experience in the handset and cellular design environment. Experience leading large teams in a multi-cultural, multi-location environment is also required.
